Sister Lets down Rope in Valley

Have you ever been so far down in the valley you gave up? You couldn’t even read your sister’s attempt to help. She knew her words could bring life, you didn’t want life. I wanted death! I was a scared little girl, in a valley of depression who felt by herself; believing she was a Christian. Jesus had me in that valley so He could show me; You are not a Christian! You have been taking my name in vain for over 20 years. “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.” Exodus 20:7 Professing to follow Christ while choosing to follow the ways of this world, taking His name in vain! Jesus showed me that. He also said it’s time for you to wake you up, to open your eyes, to light you on fire! I didn’t come out gasping for air, I came out sword swinging. My sister sent me this on February 17, 2025. I didn’t read it for months later. This is for anyone in the valley. I pray you have the strength and courage to read it. Unlike me
Psalm 23: 3-4 “He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”
What hit me hard about that Psalm 23 is verse 3 and verse 4. We often read through it, but because there's a stanza break between 3 and 4 I think most people, or at least I did, separate the two verses in their own understanding. But when I put it back together, taking out the stanza break and the separation it causes between the two verses we get - He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. - The path of righteousness goes through the valley! For His name's sake. And by His peace we will fear no evil there. Because of His presence, power (rod), and protection (staff), we are comforted, even there. And when others see all this they may give glory to God (Matt 5:16).
Also, someone pointed out that it is the shadow of death. That's all that there can be for Christians, a shadow. It may look like the real thing, feel like the real thing but for us, it's just a shadow. The enemy taunts us with mere shadows but we must remind ourselves, he can't hurt us. O death where is your sting? Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
